About Us
Design with Conscience

Diana Lopez, founder of Manzana, was born in Bogotá, Colombia, where her love for design began at an early age. Fascinated by aesthetics and the way objects are made, she knew from childhood that creativity would shape her path.
She later studied Textiles and Fashion Design at Universidad de los Andes, majoring in design. While she enjoyed creating garments, she quickly found herself drawn to leather—discovering a passion for craftsmanship and the art of bag-making.
In 2005, Diana moved to South Africa, and a year later launched her first company, Di Queen Designs (DQD).
In 2019, she discovered shade net—an unexpected material that sparked a fresh wave of inspiration. Around the same time, Diana felt called to build something that would give back to her adopted home through purpose-led design. From that vision, Manzana was born.
Manzana is a sustainable brand rooted in transformation, responsibility, and care. We believe design has the power to change how we live—not through excess, but through intention. Through thoughtful process and conscious choices, we transform waste into objects of lasting value. From waste to wonder.
Every Manzana product is made using shade net, carefully selected for their durability, integrity, and to reduce environmental impact. Each piece is considered, refined, and resolved with clarity. The result is design that is timeless, honest, and made to endure. Sustainability is not a feature—it is the foundation. From material sourcing to production methods, every decision is guided by conscience and care.
Manzana is made for those who care how things are made. For those who believe that responsibility and beauty are not opposites, but partners. We design with purpose, optimism, and confidence—creating meaningful objects that contribute to a more thoughtful future.
